This course will expand the participant's understanding of what it means to connect, how to do it more effectively, and what the implications are for working in the mental health field. It will explore communication and relationship-building concepts and how to apply them to have positive ethical influence with people. This training can help you improve your skills in connecting one-on-one, in a group and with an audience.

Do you wish you understood the biology of emotions, counseling and the healing process? This training will help therapists understand more deeply how clients experience a sense of safety, offer processes to create safety and comprehend some of the biology of emotions. This training will explore the Polyvagal Theory as it applies to counseling.

Understanding and Overcoming Childhood Trauma

Children are our most vulnerable population. More children are experiencing trauma at younger ages, resulting in academic and social impairment and more frequent mental health diagnoses. We are here to equip you with the knowledge and tools to identify trauma in children, and to help them overcome it to live happy, successful lives.
Stacey Smith, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Restoring Hope Counseling and Coaching in Cincinnati, Ohio. Stacey works extensively with children and adolescents and has provided education for schools and churches in the Greater Cincinnati area about childhood trauma and recovery.

This training will help therapists connect to clients with addictions more fully, support the recovery process, and reduce stigma, fear, and confusion about addiction and working with people who are addicted.

Trevor Steinhauser is a recovery coach located in Fort Thomas, KY. He is the host of a podcast that is centered around addiction and mental health. He is in long term recovery and has a passion for helping others. His goal is to help eradicate the stigma that comes with these issues.

This program will show the participant how to lead and grow as a counselor, to understand leadership as influence, the role of influence in counseling clients and in interacting with colleagues. The program will teach you how to build leadership capacity through personal growth and how to translate that into building your counseling practice or your role within a community mental or behavioral health setting.
