Feeling stuck. Feeling left behind. Feeling anxious. Feeling hopeless. These are some of the most common feelings of our time. The overpowering noise, relentless demands, raw speed, and seemingly endless cross-messaging can make it hard to find a safe, quiet place where you can slow down, reflect, take control, and explore important questions. "What's going on with me?" "Why do I feel what I feel?" "Is it wrong to feel this way?" "What do I really want out of life? and how do I get there?" However your personal questions speak to you, identifying and addressing them are key steps in moving toward a greater sense of contentedness.

I'm here to help with those things. My role is to listen, to be a sounding board for new ideas that might feel awkward, to help you test these ideas, to be a partner in problem-solving, and to work with you to devise solid strategies for moving toward a more fulfilling life. We'll do serious work, but as part of that, we'll likely find time to laugh as well.

The good news is, you're in control. You already have all the solutions you need, right there inside you. (I bet you even have a sense of what some of them are.) You also have the natural resilience of the human spirit on your side. And the fact that you're reading this suggests a desire to make some changes. Those are good things. The next step is yours.

Choosing to stay in a place of comfort can often lead to feeling stuck between who you are and your ideal self. I understand breaking out of this cycle can often feel overwhelming and uncomfortable. I will strive to create a safe place where together we will explore what this season of change will look like. My therapeutic approach serves as a resource of support and encouragement, as you will gain a better understanding of who you are and the capabilities you obtain. My hope is you will walk away from this experience feeling more confident towards your abilities to create personal change during future seasons of life. I would be honored to walk alongside you in this season of growth.

I have had the honorable opportunity of working with children experiencing grief through the use of Equine Therapy (also referred as Horse Therapy). This experience involved creating a safe place to process grief and learning life tasks with the absence of their loved one. I enjoy working with adults experiencing anxiety, grief, depression, and addiction.

Amanda Chen, B.A., CT

We all experience obstacles in life that can be difficult to maneuver. Sometimes, this can leave us feeling stuck. Other times, the skills that we use to keep us safe and help us cope become the very things that create challenges in our lives. As someone who has struggled through many of life's transitions myself, I know that the work of change isn't always easy. My vision for therapy is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment that allows each person to feel seen, heard, understood, and accepted.

I am passionate about a creating a space where you can safely explore your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, and the impact they have on your life. I also aim to help you identify your own strengths and build on them as we work collaboratively toward change and personal growth.

During therapy, my goal is to support you through the process of reflection and exploration, and encourage you as you continue developing the strengths and skills that will empower you to reinvest in your best self. I would be honored to partner with you on the path of self-discovery and growth.

I have specialized training in Trauma Responsive Care and have experience working with adults with developmental disabilities as well as older adults. As humans, we are faced with hardships. It is often difficult to handle these challenges straight on. Through open and supportive dialogue, we can work together to effectively adjust to challenges and changes in your life. We will uncover and build upon existing strengths and skills. Using a collaborative and supportive approach to therapy, we will set manageable goals; achieve them and begin to build a foundation based on successes. This will enable you to handle much larger and more complex situations as they arise.

I will assist you in restoring peace and improving your quality of life by engaging in interactive conversation, providing insight, offering guidance about effective coping strategies, and encouraging you to become the best version of yourself. You can expect me to incorporate humor when appropriate. I can help you begin to build your coping strategy toolbox for you to regain control of your life. Together, we can restore your well-being.
